Congratulations, Carmel!

Long-time Bruce House and community volunteer Carmel Horan was one of the recipients of the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers at a ceremony at Ottawa City Hall on April 28, in recognition of her exceptional volunteer achievements.

The Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers is awarded to individuals who have made significant, sustained and unpaid contributions to their community in Canada or abroad. The honour, first presented by Governor General David Johnston in April 2016, is the highest volunteer honour in Canada.

Volunteers such as Carmel are an important part of every program and service at Bruce House.
