With Giving Tuesday coming up on Nov. 28, Bruce House would like to thank all our supporters for the many acts of kindness they have already performed for us this year. As always, your generosity enables us to offer hope, housing, and support for our clients.
If you would like to help us mark Giving Tuesday, here are two things you can do to support Bruce House:
Tell people we are still here! With the closure of our Transition House this fall, many people are unaware that we still have three other programs that support people living with HIV with access to resources and housing.
Spread the word! Tell your friends and family about Bruce House and why you support us. If they are looking for a place to donate funds for Giving Tuesday, ask them to consider making a donation to Bruce House. Funds raised through our Giving Tuesday page will go to our Client Assistance Fund.

The Bruce House Client Assistance Fund exists to help clients meet extraordinary needs not otherwise covered by social services. This fund is used on a case-by-case basis for things such as: medical costs not covered by OHIP/ODSP; fees for counseling, therapeutic sessions or life-skills training; travel costs for medical appointments; cost of mobility devices; and any other need deemed essential to a client’s well-being or quality of life. The ability of Bruce House to offer support through this fund is dependent on donations and fundraising.
Is Bruce House in Westborough still closed?
The Transition House Program and the House is Westboro closed on September 1. Bruce House still offers housing and support through our Supportive Independent Living Program (the “apartment program”); through the Rehabilitation and Episodic Supportive Transition (REST) Program; and through our Volunteer Program.
