As we wrap up 2023, we once again reach out to you for your support.
Less than half of our annual budget comes from secure funding, which doesn’t even cover all operating costs and staff salaries. We constantly need to seek out donations, fundraise, and apply for one-time grants to keep Bruce House open and to allow us to provides homes, support, and basic needs such as food for vulnerable people living with HIV.
Over 90% of Bruce House clients receive ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program), with benefits that are far below the poverty line. In addition to our traditional work of providing affordable housing, advocacy, practical and emotional supports we are increasingly helping clients with food, toiletries, and household supplies as well as costs not covered by ODSP.
We need your help to keep doing this.
Please read our annual Appeal Letter featuring Dominique, a Bruce House success story. Dominique is a client who have achieved stability in his housing and health with support from Bruce House and now both volunteers and works in our food program one day per week.
