We continue to be humbled and moved by the support of our unbelievably generous community. Here are some of the individuals and groups who have helped vulnerable people living with HIV in Ottawa.
Yvonne Gil-Helmer has supported Bruce House decades, giving her time and assembling wonderful care packages for or clients. This December she one again donated gift bags including toothpaste, toothbrushes, tissues, socks, and more.
Every year local MAC Cosmetics staff donate their time to Bruce House, helping decorate the office for the holidays and helping us fold and mail our annual appeal letter; and this year they also helped us complete the holiday bags going out to our clients, full of health & wellness products!. The visit of the “MAC Angels” every year is a great way to start the holiday season!
The amazing Bill Staubi continues to find new ways to support our community, and has recently dropped off several bundles of gift cards for our clients. This is a very thoughtful way to support people living with HIV! Bill also donated his artwork to be auctioned, with proceeds going to Bruce House. What a great guy!
The Little Elves Foundation’s mission is to provide comfort to people affected by HIV-AIDS who are living in isolated or precarious circumstances. They distributed gifts each year, ensuring that every client we support receives a gift during the holidays. These gifts can make such a huge difference in the lives of people who so often feel alone, isolated, and abandoned. https://littleelves.org
Bruce Miller and his partner Jeremiah Bartram hosted a holiday party in their apartment building, with proceeds donated to Bruce House. This a wonderful way of bringing people together in celebration and community supporting vulnerably people living with HIV. Thank you!
The amazing Jen Woltemade (a.k.a. Jen Bruce) may have moved to Europe, but she continues to keep Bruce House in her heart. With help with “Quizmaster Phill” she organized another virtual quiz in benefit of Bruce House. Thanks, Jen, for these fun and supportive events.
Thank you to the Ottawa Gay Men’s Chorus and to Sam Jazzy for their December art auction, with 50% of proceeds supporting Bruce House, and including artworks donated by Bill Staubi. OGMC has been a long-time supporter of Bruce House and our community, bravo!
