Trans Day of Remembrance

The International Trangender Day of Remembrance (https://tdor.info/) is an annual event to remember transgender people who have been victims of hate and violence. It is held on November 20.

Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, issued the following statement:

“Last year, I was privileged to work across party lines to craft the Act recognizing November 20th as Trans Day of Remembrance. Today we remember and recognize members of Ontario’s Transgender community who have tragically lost their lives and those who continue to suffer from violence and prejudice.

As Ontarians, we’re lucky to belong to a fair and just society, together we can work to uphold our shared values of respect, equality and fairness.”
