Bruce House has been awarded a $45,000 grant from the United Way East Ontario – Local Love in a Global Crisis fund.
Throughout the pandemic Bruce House has worked tirelessly to ensure our clients have food, PPE, and their basic needs met despite rising grocery costs, inadequate supports from the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), and the additional burdens we have all experienced during the pandemic.
This grant will go a long way to ensuring that we can continue to deliver the current level of supports including PPE supplies (in part thanks to the City of Ottawa), non-perishable foods (in partnership with The Ottawa Food Bank), pet food and cat litter (in partnership with The Ottawa Humane Society), food gift cards, household essentials, monthly boxes of fresh vegetables, monthly boxes of frozen meats, vitamins, and personal care items.
We are very grateful to the United Way East Ontario for this tremendous support.
